Water quality refers to the physical, chemical and biological components in the water that are influenced by either natural processes or human practices.
Agricultural, industrial and mining activities can reduce the quality of the water making it unfit for a specific use.
Water quality requirements depend greatly on the intended use of the water. For instance, drinking water needs to be of higher quality than water that is used for irrigation and mining purposes. For this reason the Department of water and forestry (DWAF) put legislation in place to control the quality of South African water.
This is where Aquatico’s Water Quality Monitoring comes in.
We offer a variety of services that help clients to use the monitoring results from the water quality testing done by our SANAS accredited laboratory to ensure that it meets the water quality standards. We customize the monitoring report to meet the specific and unique requirements of each client and to be accessible across all management levels.
The monitoring reports turn our clients’ environmental data into management information and decision-making tools that can assess risk as measured against legislative criteria.
Services include but are not limited to:
• Water monitoring system design
• Dust deposition management
• Water pollution tests
• Surface and groundwater quality assessment
• Pollution source identification,
• Water user surveys and hydrocensus
• Borehole use verification
• WWTW efficiency audits
• Numerical flow and pollution transport modelling
• Groundwater flow prediction
• Well field design as well as aquifer modelling and testing
